Lumela (hi)! We’re Stan & Angie Burleson.

We grew up in Perryton, Texas, where we served on youth mission trips together through First Baptist Church. As high school sweethearts, we later attended Wayland Baptist University and were married.

Stan served as a music minister for Baptist churches across Texas and, most recently, led worship and served as the missions minister at First Baptist Perryton. Angie taught preschool through 3rd grade, and her greatest passion has always been loving and caring for children.

Along the way, God placed a shared passion for missions in our hearts after we each had a separate opportunity to serve in Belarus. God introduced us to what would become a focus in our family and change the direction of our lives.

In 2008, God began to call First Baptist Perryton to Lesotho. Our church followed and sent 2-3 teams annually to serve and partner with IMB missionaries Alan and Babs Dial and Jim and Teresa Flora. In 2013, the church adopted or embraced the Matsoku Valley of Lesotho. The church became missionaries to the people living in this valley and began sending 3 to 4 teams annually.

In 2016, after leading short-term teams for eight years, God called the church to partner more deeply by sending us out as full-time missionaries when the International Mission Board encouraged churches to come alongside them through “church-sent” partnerships. Today, we continue to serve in partnership on the IMB Basotho team.
